To activate your NetID you will need to complete the following steps:
- Locate your SUID number

SUID = 9 digit number on your SUID card, or for
students, this number is on your Admissions letter.

- Calculate your PIN.
|
PIN = 2 digit day and 4 digit year of your birth.
(This is the same PIN used by MYSU and SCORE.)
For example:
If you were born on: February 8, 1960,
in MMDDYYYY format your birthday is:
02081960
The part circled in red would be your initial PIN:

- Create a NetID password. The rules are shown on the right.
- Think of a challenge question and answer.
If you forget your password, you will be able to reset it by answering your challenge
question correctly. Create a question for which you know the answer, but
that is not common knowledge.
For example: "where was I born?" or "what's my mother's
maiden name?" Remember that your response is case sensitive.
- You are now ready to activate your account.

Password Rules:
- Create a password that is 7 or 8 characters long.
- Use at least
- Use at least 4 different characters
- Avoid any known word.
- Avoid the special characters: {}"<>+~^%
What is a PIN?
Your ORIGINAL PIN is the day (2 digits) and year (4 digits) of your birth. For example,
if you were born on February 8, 1980, your initial PIN would be 081980.
This is the same PIN used by MYSU and SCORE - student registration. If you have changed
your PIN there, use the updated PIN here.
If you are a faculty or staff member, contact your Information Coordinator to have your
PIN reset.
If you are a student, contact the Computing and Media Services Call Center at
443-2677 during normal business hours to have your PIN reset.
