- From the home screen, press the settings button
- Scroll down and select the 'mail' tab
- Click 'add account' in the accounts menu
- Click 'other' at the bottom of the mail options (Yahoo, gmail, etc.)
- Select the IMAP option (versus POP and Exchange)
- In the name section, type in your name
- In the address section, type in your NetID followed by @syr.edu
Incoming mail server settings
- In the 'host name' box, type in (in all lower case) imap-server.syr.edu
- In the 'user name' box, type your NetID
- In the password box, type in your NetID password
Outgoing mail server settings
- In the 'host name' box, type (in lower cased) smtp-host.syr.edu
- If you want to send e-mail from your iPhone, type in your NetID and NetID password information as you did for the Incoming mail server settings.
- Press the save button on the top left hand side of the screen.
The iPhone will now attempt to access the syr.edu host to ensure proper mail delivery and correct login information. If you receive a message from the iPhone that it has successfully linked up to the syr.edu host, you can immediately begin checking your e-mail. To do so:
- Click the home button
- Click the mail button to receive your MyMail messages
