Kathy KinneyKathy is an information technology professional with proficiency in planning, development and maintenance of a variety of business support systems. She has over 20 years information and process computer system experience in the consulting, manufacturing and nuclear utility industries.
Before joining the EPS team at Syracuse University, Kathy was employed by CGI-AMS as a systems delivery manager for the Novelis (formally Alcan Aluminum Corporation) outsourcing information technology contract. She was responsible for the customer support experience at the Oswego aluminum manufacturing plant. Kathy was instrumental in the development and management of a distributed support organization. Her team supported IT initiatives for business process improvement, manufacturing, scheduling and planning system applications.
Prior to the outsourcing engagement, Kathy worked in a variety of positions for Alcan including manufacturing systems analyst, project leader and ERP team leader. She provided maintenance and operations support leadership along with ERP project management. Kathy managed projects for ERP systems support for the North American Rolled Products division. She was instrumental in the implementation of the i2 Supply Chain Planner application and the integration of the Alcan Can and Automotive Product lines into to the Global Enterprise Manufacturing Management System. Kathy was involved in the execution of the project work efforts, including requirement definition, design, development and implementation.
Kathy first began her IT career in the nuclear power generation industry. As a software systems analyst for Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation at the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, she supported the site nuclear plant personnel system and plant process monitoring systems. She designed and implemented the Plant Process Monitoring interface and provided support for the site badging and fitness for duty applications. While working as a nuclear systems specialist, she also supported the Plant Process Computer, Site Security, the Nuclear Reactor Core Monitoring and the Plant Work Tracking systems.
Kathy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer and Information Sciences at Colgate University in Hamilton New York.
