Information Technology and Services provides "Technology Classroom Orientation" sessions to help faculty become familiar with the equipment that is provided in the technology classrooms.
Four types of sessions are available:
To arrange an appointment for any of the training sessions, call 443-5659 or fill out the Request for Training form on the ITS Web site.
Mini Sessions
Mini Sessions provide individual instruction in the technology classrooms (instructional information is also available online in the Classroom Resource Guide ).
Mini Sessions are typically held 10 minutes before a class meeting and provide instruction about presenting the specific form of media a faculty member intends to use for the class period (i.e. for a DVD presentation, consultants will instruct the faculty member about how to use the DVD player). The sessions can be repeated as often as needed until a faculty member is familiar with all of the equipment in the room.
Sessions are available for the following equipment:
- DVD/VHS video playback
- Laptop computer connection
- Slide Projection
- Wireless microphone
- Document camera
Full Sessions
Full Sessions cover all of the available equipment in a technology classroom and can be arranged for individual or group sessions. The sessions last about an hour, depending on the venue, and must be scheduled when the classroom is not being used for other purposes.
Quick Start Sessions
Quick Start Sessions are group sessions that are typically held before the start of the fall and spring semesters to orient faculty to the capabilities of the technology classrooms and ways to integrate technology into teaching and learning. The session will introduce participants to ITS-supported media resources.
Portable Equipment Sessions
Individual instruction is also provided on all equipment available through the ITS Faculty Equipment Loan Program.
