Institutional Purchases
Institutional computer purchases are those purchased with University funds on a
requisition through an outside vendor or with an ID through the Bookstore.
These purchases are for institutional use and are tax exempt.
If you are a Syracuse University employee purchasing computer hardware or software
with SU funds (for departmental use), click the "institutional purchases" link in
the left menu.
Personal Purchases
If you are a student or SU employee purchasing computer hardware or software
through the University with your own funds (for personal use), click the "personal
purchases" link in the left menu.
NOTE: SU recommends and supports primarily Windows computers. Some students use
Macintosh computers because they prefer them or because their majors require applications
supported by the Macintosh operating systems. SU has supported students who own
Macs, but students who own a Mac may have to rely more heavily on support from Apple or commercial
service vendors.
