POLICY
All reasonable steps must be taken to ensure that sensitive University data is securely transmitted
over computer networks.
DEFINITION
| Sensitive Data |
Any University financial data or administrative data that is:
- Thought of as confidential or classified internal information,
- Personal information that can be linked to an individual such as: payroll data,
SSNs, birth dates, SU Ids, credit card numbers; alumni data, donor data;
HIPAA, SEVIS, FERPA or other regulatory protected information.

Transmission whereby the data cannot be easily obtained or used by unauthorized parties. |
| Computer Networks |
All computer networks including the University's computer networks and outside
networks; including both wired and wireless. |

It is important for the University to protect the privacy of our student, faculty, staff, alumni
and donor data.
