This help page is designed to assist members of the Syracuse University community who are using Microsoft Office 2003. Here you will find useful learning tools for individuals with all levels of experience. Some of the training is in-person classroom sessions, while most is available to you whenever you need help, by visiting one of the dozens of self-paced learning tutorials developed and delivered by Microsoft. Once you have installed Office 2003 on your computer, you will be able to access the Microsoft tutorials.

The Microsoft Office 2003 suite, as delivered on the Summon and CS servers, includes the software packages listed below.

  • Access - database management
  • Excel - spreadsheet
  • InfoPath - forms designer
  • PowerPoint - presentation
  • Publisher - layout
  • Word - word processing

If you receive your MS Office products from another server, you may have different software available to you. If you are currently running Office XP (also called Office 2002), you are welcome to attend any of the in-person training sessions. Office XP and Office 2003 are very similar. However, only those computers with Office 2003 installed will be able to access the on-line tutorials from Microsoft. Find out if your department is a Summon or CS client.
