Instructions
All classes will be held in the Bird Library Training Center. You should have already discussed with your DSP or System Administrator what type of access you will need.
- Public Data via web - Exchange/Groupwise
- Access your desktop - Restricted Unit Services - VPN required
- Terminal Server - Direct connection to specific services - no VPN
- Portal Administrative Services and/or Enterprise Data File Server - Machine must be built according to ITS standards
You will need to know your IP address. To find your IP address:
- go to START->RUN
- type in cmd and click OK
- at the prompt type: ipconfig /all and hit Enter (Note: there is a space between ipconfig and /.)
- Look under Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection. Your IP address is in this form: 128.230.xxx.xx
Check with your DSP to ensure Remote Desktop on your computer is enabled prior to attending class.
