Syracuse University Technology Leadership Council (TLC)

The Syracuse University Technology Leadership Council fosters collaboration among information technology professionals who are engaged in meeting the network, computing, information, and communications needs of the University's academic, research, and administrative departments. TLC members monitor technology trends in higher education, identify and prioritize IT initiatives that support the University's core missions and business requirements, and make recommendations for long-term information technology strategic priorities.

Syracuse University's Technology Leadership Council meets on the fourth Thursday of every month at 10:30 a.m. The TLC agendas, presentation calendar and meeting minutes are posted in Sharepoint Access required

5/11/10 - Duplicate Technology Services
The Technology Leadership Council (TLC) meeting on January 22, 2009 resulted in the formation an ad hoc Duplicate Technology Services committee charged with identify and evaluating duplicate technologies and services at SU, with the goal of recommending which to eliminate, consolidate or maintain.

5/11/10 - Digital Signage
At the March 26, 2009 meeting the TLC approved formation of a working group on digital signage to determine whether and to what degree an enterprise wide approach is feasible and desirable.

5/11/10 - Sustainability Committee
The Technology Leadership Council in early 2009 formed a Sustainability committee to investigate opportunities to reduce power and paper consumption of computers, printers and peripherals, and develop a set of best practices and purchasing recommendations that can be offered to the IT groups on campus, as well as home users.
