Research Computing Series

Hosted by ITS and the Research Computing Advisory Council, the Research Computing Series connects attendees with experts and computing resources to support advanced research. You can register online for two virtual sessions on Microsoft Teams:

  • Sarah Lucas, assistant professor, biology—Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Phish Reporting 

ITS has updated the phishing email reporting process. Use Outlook’s “Report Message” feature to flag suspicious emails. This faster method helps the Information Security team respond efficiently to threats, enhance cybersecurity and protect the campus community.

AI Day with Microsoft

What role can generative artificial intelligence (AI) play at Syracuse University? What is possible and what is happening already? To explore these topics, the Orange community is invited to a series of discussions and activities featuring Microsoft experts on Thursday, Nov. 7, and Friday, Nov. 8. Register.

Behind the Monitor with Carrie Brown

Carrie Brown, counseling director at the Barnes Center at The Arch, discusses how excessive screen time impacts mental health, contributing to stress, anxiety and sleep issues. She shares tips on setting boundaries, taking “detox” breaks and using tools for better balance. Watch video.
