AI at Work

The AI at Work series continues Sept. 16 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. with a hands-on look at Claude Cowork. Whether you use Claude every day or are just getting started, you’ll leave with practical ways to put it to use. Join in 2-469 Newhouse or online via Microsoft Teams. Register.

    Claude Access

    Claude Enterprise now includes two tools built for bigger jobs. Claude Code takes on programming tasks from the command line or the desktop app. Claude Cowork handles multi-step projects—background research, data cleanup, document prep—and checks in as it goes. Get Claude.

      Claude 101

      Research Computing

      NVIDIA H100 GPUs are now available on OrangeGrid—16 cards, with a three-day runtime cap. This update covers checkpointing, CUDA 13 compatibility and a new Good Neighbor policy. September Update.

      System Statuses

      Is it your Wi-Fi or the service? The Syracuse University system status page shows real-time and historical status for essential tech services—MySlice, Blackboard, Zoom, Microsoft 365, claude.ai and more.       MakerSpace

      The ITS MakerSpace is a hands-on fabrication lab with 20-plus machines—3D printers, laser engravers, textile machines and more—open to students, faculty and staff. Current hours are Monday through Friday, noon to 8 p.m., and weekends, 2 to 6 p.m., on the first floor of Marshall Square Mall (University I.D. required). MakerSpace.

      Digital Accessibility Tip: Sign-Speak

      Sign-Speak is here to stay. After a successful pilot last fall, the free service is now a permanent campus resource—interpreting between American Sign Language and spoken or written English in real time, using just a camera. On-demand, campus-wide support, anytime. Sign-Speak.

      Information Security Tip: Device Readiness

      Get your devices semester-ready. Before the fall rush, take a few minutes to install pending updates on your computer and phone, confirm disk encryption is turned on and restart to let patches finish applying. Up-to-date, encrypted devices are your first line of defense once campus traffic picks back up. Stay Secure.
