A recent Inside Higher Ed article has spurred discussion about Zoom’s artificial intelligence-based products, including Zoom IQ Meeting Summary and Zoom IQ Team Chat Compose. If the user consents, these programs can use meeting audio, video or chats to train artificial intelligence (AI). Please note that Syracuse University’s enterprise Zoom license does not include Zoom Meeting IQ Meeting Summary or Team Chat Compose.
If Zoom IQ is added to the University’s license at a later date, further guidance would be provided regarding the AI training program. Per Zoom’s Terms of Service Section 10.2, “Zoom does not use any of your audio, video, chat, screen sharing, attachments or other communications-like Customer Content (such as poll results, whiteboard and reactions) to train Zoom or third-party artificial intelligence models.”
