Computers for Faculty and Staff
Syracuse University's faculty and staff, in consultation with their departmental computing support staff, are encouraged to purchase desktop and laptop computers and printers from the University's preferred suppliers. Formal preferred contract pricing has been negotiated with suppliers to provide reduced support costs and improved service.
It is very important that faculty and staff consult their departmental computing support staff before making a purchase. If you do not have computing support staff for your school or department, please contact Sue Joyner at x2500 in Purchasing for help in assessing your needs.
SU has a number of site licenses and agreements in place to facilitate software purchases involving multiple units. Before making any software purchases, SU faculty and staff are advised to contact their departmental computing support staff or the University's Purchasing Department to determine whether there are existing contracts or purchase arrangements that can be used.
