System Alerts & Statuses

ITS publishes Notifications (for scheduled downtimes) and Alerts (for unscheduled downtimes or outages) here on the System Status page and by email to the NOTIFY_ITS listserv.

ITS will notify the campus community of any confirmed outage.  Outage alerts will be posted on this page under Unscheduled System Alerts or Scheduled System Downtimes. ITS will notify the campus community when the issue is resolved. Actual problem resolution time can vary, depending on the nature and cause of the disruption.  ITS views any situation that results in a widespread disruption of message delivery as critical, and applies all due resources and effort towards an accurate diagnosis and expeditious resolution of the problem.

Weekly Outage Windows

Information Technology Services (ITS) computing and network systems may be unavailable for weekly routine maintenance activities or upgrades during the day- and time- periods listed below:

  • Tuesday: between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Unscheduled System Alerts

NetID Self-Service Update - alert

Description: As of 11:30am on Wednesday, November 25th, NetID self-service,, has been made inaccessible by administrators to address previously identified issues. Users with account related issues should contact the ITS Help Desk directly.

Scheduled System Downtimes

Housing system to be unavailable - scheduled

Description: Work to move the system from local ITS servers to a hosted environment and to Upgrade from v4 to v6, the Housing System will be unavailable some time between 8:00 a.m. EST on Monday, December 7, 2020 and 2:00 p.m. EST on Friday, December 11, 2020.

Orange Tracker to be unavailable - scheduled

Description: The Orange Tracker application will be unavailable from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM EST on Sunday, November 29, 2020. Users will be unable to create tickets, address tickets, or access the site during this time. All emails into Orange Tracker will be processed after the outage.

Compliance Sheriff Application hits End of Life (EOL) on December 3, 2020 - scheduled

Description: The Compliance Sheriff Application's license is not being renewed and will expire December 3, 2020. The application will be halted and the hosting server/vm will be powered off shortly after 6:00 a.m. ET Thursday, December 3, 2020. Varied customer groups have been notified.

To receive Notifications and Alerts by email, subscribe to the NOTIFY_ITS listserv:

  1. Click this link:
  2. Delete the signature line from the body of the email if it is included automatically. You do not need to enter a subject.
  3. Include the following line in the body of the message: subscribe NOTIFY_ITS Your_name
  4. You may omit your name if your email program automatically includes it in your email header.
  5. Send the email.

You will receive a request to confirm your subscription. Click on the confirmation link in the email and you’re done.
