System Alerts & Status

ITS publishes Notifications (for scheduled downtimes) and Alerts (for unscheduled downtimes or outages) here on the System Status page and by email to the NOTIFY_ITS listserv.

ITS will notify the campus community of any confirmed outage.  Outage alerts will be posted on this page under Unscheduled System Alerts or Scheduled System Downtimes. ITS will notify the campus community when the issue is resolved. Actual problem resolution time can vary, depending on the nature and cause of the disruption.  ITS views any situation that results in a widespread disruption of message delivery as critical, and applies all due resources and effort towards an accurate diagnosis and expeditious resolution of the problem.

Weekly Outage Windows

Information Technology Services (ITS) computing and network systems may be unavailable for weekly routine maintenance activities or upgrades during the day- and time- periods listed below:

  • Tuesday: between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Scheduled System Downtimes

MediaSite Services to be unavailable - scheduled

Description: MediaSite Services will be unavailable from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, due to upgrade of the systems to the newest software version. The following environments will be upgraded:;; and to be unavailable - scheduled

Description: Work to reconfigure the application will make unavailable between 6:00 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. ET on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

Center of Excellence Network and Internet Interruptions - scheduled

Description: In order to upgrade access points, there will be network outages with no internet connectivity (including wireless networks) in the Center of Excellence between 6:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. ET daily on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, November 13-15, 2018. Wired and wireless network connections to any systems housed the Center of Excellence will be unavailable as follows: Tuesday 11/13 –Basement and 1st Floor; Wednesday 11/14 – 2nd and 3rd Floors; and Thursday 11/15 – 4th and 5th Floors.

To receive Notifications and Alerts by email, subscribe to the NOTIFY_ITS listserv:

  1. Click this link:
  2. Delete the signature line from the body of the email if it is included automatically. You do not need to enter a subject.
  3. Include the following line in the body of the message: subscribe NOTIFY_ITS Your_name
  4. You may omit your name if your email program automatically includes it in your email header.
  5. Send the email.

You will receive a request to confirm your subscription. Click on the confirmation link in the email and you’re done.
