05/17/13 - newhouse network and internet interruptions

In order to replace network switches, there will be network outages with no internet connectivity (including wireless networks) in parts of Newhouse 1, 2 or 3 between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. ET each weekday starting Friday, May 17 and ending Friday, May 24, 2013. The network outages will not impact wired connections for either LEMP or TRAC. Network connections (including wireless networks) to any other systems housed in Newhouse locations will be unavailable as follows: Friday, May 17: NH1 ?parts of floor 2, all of 3 & 4. Monday, May 20: NH1 ?parts of floor 2, all of 1 and ground floor and sub basement. Tuesday, May 21: NH3 ? floor two and 3. Wednesday, May 22: NH3 ? floors one and four. Thursday, May 23: NH2 - floors two, three and four. Friday, May 24: NH2 ? floor 0 and parts of 1.

05/25/13 - 621 skytop and inn complete network and internet outage

Work to reconfigure networking equipment at the 621 Skytop MTR location will result in a network outage with no internet connectivity (including wireless networks) for 621 Skytop and the Inn Complete between 8:00 a.m. and noon ET on Saturday, May 25, 2013. Network connections to all systems housed in the 621 Skytop and the Inn Complete will be unavailable during this time.

05/25/13 - shaw, 230 euclid, 750 & 754 ostrom network and internet outage

Relocation of networking equipment will result in a network outage with no internet connectivity (including wireless networks) for Shaw Hall, 230 Euclid, and 750 & 754 Ostrom between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 25, 2013. Network connections to all systems housed in the locations listed above will be unavailable during this time.

05/28/13 - windows services to be unavailable

All ITS-managed Windows servers that are joined to the AD.SYR.EDU domain will be restarted in order to apply system patches. Servers will reboot in phases starting at 2:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Services on each server will be unavailable for roughly 10 to 20 minutes sometime between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.

05/28/13 - brief interruptions to network services

In order to exercise and confirm core to datacenter network redundancy, the Machinery Hall datacenter router: mh7000.syr.edu will be rebooted at 5:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. Brief network interruptions may accompany the reboot of the Machinery Hall datacenter router.

05/28/13 - r25 application to be unavailable

In order to upgrade the application from version 3.2 to version 3.4, the R25 application will be unavailable between 7:00 a.m. and noon ET on Tuesday, May 28th 2013.

05/29/13 - callxpress to be unavailable

Relocation of supporting hardware in Machinery Hall will result in an outage for the CallXpress unified messaging system between 4:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday, May 29th, 2013. All features of CallXpress including voicemail will be unavailable during this outage.

06/02/13 - cascade to be unavailable

Work to upgrade the application to version 7.2.2 will render Cascade Server unavailable between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. ET on Sunday, June 2, 2013. Users will receive a "temporarily unavailable" message in their web browser when attempting to connect to the server. All Web sites associated with Cascade Server will continue to run and process web page requests as normal. However, no new content will be pushed to the Web Servers from Cascade during the outage.

06/02/13 - myslice to be unavailable

The MySlice portal and all of the services accessed through the portal will be unavailable between 6:00 a.m. and noon ET on Sunday, June 2, 2013. This outage includes the PeopleSoft HRSA system, the PeopleSoft Financials system, and MyReports. In addition, the following online services which are accessed through MySlice will be unavailable: All Self-Service applications, Holds, Course Catalog and Class Search services, Global Survey, Orange Alert, Financials, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Grants, Budget, Asset Management and Endowments, Financial Aid Portfolio, Student Loan Lenders, Student Athletic Management, Faculty Center, Effort Reporting, Housing and MealPlan services, and Parking services.

5/28/13 - ensemble to be unavailable

In order to migrate to a new VM hardware, Ensemble will be unavailable for about an hour sometime between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday, May 28, 2013.
