Photo of Jenny Gluck, associate chief information officerWhy do you enjoy working for Syracuse University and ITS?

I love being part of a diverse, equity-aware, and inclusive organization that supports the development of inhabitants (citizens) of the world. To me, there is nothing more important than teaching, learning, research, and a shared understanding that we all depend on each other for survival and success.

What is your current favorite quarantine activity?

I love learning how to bake bread and playing with our Yorkshire Terriers.

Can you describe your role in the ITS department?

I am an Associate Chief Information Officer who is responsible for the strategic and tactical activities of the ITS Academic Services group (ITS-AS).  I call us the “triple A’s” for Academics, Accessibility, and Analytics. We work toward ensuring that the campus community has a universally designed technology experience and that everyone encounters accessible Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). We also enable campus constituents to make decisions and predictions using University data.

Why should students take advantage of the ITS department and its resources?

ITS Academic Services is here to support our students with any technology-related challenges and to provide them with technology opportunities. I hope students take advantage of our department and resources to improve their academic success and computing experiences. For example, I hope students find maps.syracuse.edu, and it helps them navigate our physical campus.

What has been your most memorable moment working for SU?

The day we opened the University’s first MakerSpace for all students, faculty, and staff (makerspace.syr.edu).
