In this week’s Friday Five interview, we talk to ITS team member Shari Clubine, administrative assistant II for Network and Wiring Services.
1. What is your role within ITS and how long have you worked at the University?
I am an Administrative Assistant II for Network and Wiring Services. Our department plans, designs, installs, maintains and services the campus community’s network and communications infrastructure for voice, Ethernet (network) and wireless services. I have been here a little more than three years.
2. What do you like best about working at ITS?
I have found that as a whole ITS is a very knowledgeable and supportive department. I have been impressed with the department’s dedication to students. Not just in regard to providing services, but giving opportunities to those interested to gain on-the-job experience while pursuing their education. And I greatly appreciate ITS’s support of a balanced work/family life.
3. What is your favorite Syracuse restaurant?
Francesca’s Cucina! We love going there to celebrate special occasions. It has a beautiful atmosphere, and the food is delicious. Our favorite part is getting the “chef’s choice” risotto appetizer. It is something different every time we go and always scrumptious. Looking forward to being able to go there again.
4. How do you like to spend your free time?
I love spending my free time with my family and friends doing a variety of activities like hiking, going to the beach, board games, playing soccer or just sitting by the fire on our deck. My “me time” is usually spent going for a run, crafting or working in the yard.
5. What is your favorite song/movie/book/TV show/etc.?
Music: I am definitely an 80’s girl.
Movies: Lion King and Monsters Inc. They remind me of when my daughters were little and the three of us would have movie night.
Book: Anything by Nora Roberts or Sandra Brown
TV Show: This is Us and A Million Little Things
