AI at Work

Wondering how AI fits your workflow? The AI at Work series continues Sept. 16 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. with a hands-on look at Claude Cowork. Whether you use Claude every day or are just getting started, you’ll leave with practical ways to put it to use. Join in 2-469 Newhouse or online via Microsoft Teams. Register.

AI Bootcamp

A collaboration between the Center for Student Excellence and United AI, the AI Bootcamp opens its fall 2026 cohort Sept. 16. Attend five weekly sessions from 7 to 8 p.m. in Room 516, 100 Sims Drive, to earn a verified Syracuse University AI Professional Skills Certificate. It’s free, open to every major and no coding is required. Sign Up.

Claude Access

Claude Enterprise—Anthropic’s AI assistant, available to all Syracuse University students—just picked up two new tools. Claude Code takes on programming tasks from the command line or desktop app. Claude Cowork handles multi-step projects like research and document prep. Set up your account at getclaude.syr.edu.

ITS Service Center

Laptop acting up? Locked out of your account? The ITS Service Center is in the first floor lobby of the Women’s Building, open Monday-Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with weekend hours too. Current students can stop by for in-person help with laptops, accounts or Wi-Fi, or reach the Help Desk at 315.443.2677, email help@syr.edu anytime or submit a request. Service Center.

MakerSpace Hours

The ITS MakerSpace is a hands-on fabrication lab with 20-plus machines—3D printers, laser engravers, textile machines and more—open to students for coursework, research and personal projects. Academic year hours are Monday through Friday, noon to 8 p.m., and weekends, 2 to 6 p.m., on the first floor of Marshall Square Mall (University I.D. required). MakerSpace.

Information Security Tip: Phish Bowl

Spot the scam before it hooks you. The ITS Phish Bowl collects real phishing emails circulating across Syracuse University—fake account alerts, bogus job offers, financial aid scams and more. Check it to see what’s going around, then delete anything that matches. Stay Secure.

Digital Accessibility Tip: Sign-Speak

Sign-Speak is here to stay. After a successful pilot last fall, the free service is now a permanent campus resource—interpreting between American Sign Language and spoken or written English in real time, using just a camera. On-demand, campus-wide support, anytime. Sign-Speak.
