  • May 28Information Security with Chief Information Security Officer Chris Croad and Information Technology Analyst Andrew McClurg. This presentation delves into the critical issue of phishing and its impact on Syracuse University. It provides a comprehensive overview of phishing, explaining what it is, why it works, and the emerging trends in phishing attacks. The session will cover prevention methods, including the tools and techniques employed by Syracuse University to combat phishing. The session will also discuss the added complexities of information security in the age of artificial intelligence.
  • June 4 – Microsoft OneDrive with Technology Transformation Specialist Shannon Glennon. This session will cover the essentials, including accessing OneDrive via web and desktop, uploading files and folders, and organizing with folders and search. It will also address file sharing and collaboration, best practices, and security.

  • July 8Generative AI for Staff with Technology Transformation Specialist Shannon Glennon. This session will include a quick summary of ways to get started using AI at work and demos of some of the common tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini.

  • July 23 – Digital Accessibility with Senior Digital Accessibility Analyst Christian Jones. Accessibility does not happen by accident—but it does not have to be difficult! This workshop introduces seven simple yet essential practices that content creators can apply from the start using familiar tools to make documents, websites, and mixed media more accessible and usable for everyone.

  • July 29 – Interactive Video Learning with PlayPosit with Online Learning Services IT Analyst Shannon Pitt. PlayPosit is a tool that is used to create videos that are interactive. Interactions such as questions, files, and web links are embedded in the videos. These interactive videos can be used in a variety of ways, including: onboarding new staff, providing training on specific applications or software, and delivering orientation content to students. These videos can be distributed to consumers to boost accountability and simplify tracking.
  • August 12 Orange Access: Modernizing Identity Management with Director of Identity and Access Management Dan Edwards. Orange Access is the University’s new identity and access management platform that is set to replace the decades-old FAST system, bringing a modern, secure, and user-friendly approach to how faculty, staff, and students manage their digital identities. This session will include a high-level overview of the Orange Access project and why it matters, a live demonstration of key features and improvements, information about the rollout timeline, and what is changing or staying the same for users.
